Cardinal IG’s glass sealed units are a guarantor of exceptional quality, thermal
performance and durability. Their sealed units come with a warranty of up to 25
years in comparison with an average market warranty of 12 years. We offer two
configurations: tempered and laminated glass.
Tempered Glass
Tempered glass is annealed glass that has been heat treated to harden and strengthen it, making it approximately 4 to 5 times stronger. It’s often called safety glass because it breaks into small pebble shaped pieces like a car’s side glass after an accident.
Laminated Glass
Exceptional security, safety and soundproofing are one of the key advantages of installing Laminated Glass. It’s made of two or more plies of glass with a vinyl interlayer between, what allows the glass to hold up a greater impact than other types of glass. Other advantages of laminated glass include:
Protective layer blocks 95% of the UV-light transmission
Multi-layered form provides a strong barrier against forced entry
Higher impact resistance protects the glass from windstorms
Neat® Naturally Clean Glass
We feature optionalCardinal’s Neat® technology of naturally clean glass, which adds an incredible level of thermal and energy performance to your glass. It harnesses the sun’s UV rays to loosen dirt so water can rinse it away, leaving windows virtually spotless.
The titanium dioxide layer of Neat glass reacts chemically with the suns’ UV rays that causes organic materials on the glass to decompose. It works even on cloudy days, as 80% of UV radiation gets through the cloud cover. Thus when it rains, the decomposed dirt no longer clogs to the glass, easily rinsing away.
